Sandara Park And Ryan Bang
After Sandara Park was spotted in Manila, more pictures of her were uploaded online after she returned back to Korea.
Ryan Bang, a Korean who became famous after he was chosen to be an international housemate of the third season of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition. From being a reality TV star Ryan got some love from the Filipino audience because of his dorky personality same as Sandara Park.
Last January 10, Sandara Park took a visit at the ABS-CBN compound to stopover on her former talent agency, Star Magic. From there she visited the office and the Shoutout studio to see Mr. M (the Head of Star Magic) and other people she had worked with before. According to the Star Magic people, Mr. M immediately called Ryan Bang to finally meet these two Korean. Mr. Bang who was clueless was shocked when he saw Sandara Park in person. He then expressed, “I really can’t believe it, Sandara (2NE1) is famous in Korea and now I just saw her in person”. Sandara Park was also glad to meet her male counterpart before she became famous in Korea.

He’s like me, so he uses his glare! Kyah~!”

Sandara Park In Adidas
2NE1 Lonely is an all kill on the charts! The girl who captivated the Philippines, Sandara Park (Park Sandara) and Adidas’s passion, all in as one!
Lonely Lonely Lonely~♪ 2NE1 has come back with their new song Lonely. They had taken first place in all the charts. But the popularity of 2NE1′s lonely doesn’t end in Korea! It was first place in Youtube’s music section which put them on the main page, they have popularity around the world that surpasses Korea^^ Today we will introduce Sandara Park (Park Sandara) out of 2NE1′s sparkling stars. We invite everyone into Sandara Park’s passion.^^
Korea’s girl Park Sandara, informing the Philippines about Korea.
All 2NE1 fans know that Sandara Park used to be a star in the Philippines, right? ^^ Even if you aren’t a 2NE1 fan, you’ve probably listened to parts of her story before. When Sandara Park’s story was aired in five parts in KBS’s Human Theater, she gained a lot of popularity. When people hear the name ‘Sandara,’ they assume that it is a Filipino name but did you know that it is actually pure Korean words that mean strong and steadfast?^^ Park Sandara had let people know about Korea starting from her name!
There’s a program called “Star Circle Quest” in the Philippines. Similar to our “Superstar K” and “Birth of a Great Star,” it uses a survival setup to pick singers. Park Sandara had also participated in Star Circle Quest, and they had shown us a miracle! The last one eliminated that the remaining 5 people chose had recorded 500,000 text votes during pre-selection. The female entertainer had recorded the highest number. As the show was progressing, Sandara Park had received as many as 2 million text votes.
Foreigner Sandara Park, receiving love from the Philippines.
To keep Park Sandara from being first, there was a rumor that said Park Sandara had ‘bought votes from people.’ Thus Star Circle Quest’s MCs and judges had turned onPark Sandara. Out of the MCs, one had asked the young Park Sandara a question.
“How were you able to pay for a million, three hundred thousand votes?”
The people who had appeared on Superstar K and Birth of a Great Star probably also want to ask a similar question. How such a thing was possible. If she knew, they would probably ask her to teach them how. But to Sandara Park, it was a question that she didn’t know how to respond to and she couldn’t help but cry during the broadcast. But in the end she won over the rumors and won 2nd place ^^! From seven thousand contestants. The public must have been able to see Sandara Park’s sincerity?
Sandara Park of the Philippines, standing again as Park Sandara of Korea.
Park Sandara is reminiscing like this!
“Things that are regretful will never become the best. During the contest as well, although I was second, I wasn’t able to become first place. It didn’t seem like I could do anything about it because I was a foreigner. When I was acting, it was the same. I was only called for parts that were of a Korean coming to the Philippines to study abroad. That was what had limited me and what I had to work to resolve.”
In the Philippines, Sandara Park had achieved the kind of popularity that can be described as skyrocketing. CF model, MC that introduced Korean dramas, singer, movie actress, talent. With overflowing talent, she could do anything! readily. And in Korea, as she also made her name known with ‘Experience! Global Village Homestay’, ‘Live Broadcast, Current Events Tonight’, and ‘Human Theater’ – she finally returned to her home country. ^^b
My name is Sandara Park.
People who have watched Human Theater would be able to sympathize. With the feelings of a small-framed Korean girl who towered over the Philippines. Thus many people waited excitedly for Park Sandara’s passionate image to appear. But it wasn’t easy to see her on broadcasts, because her contract with YG Entertainment wasn’t originally for her to be part of 2NE1.
Park Sandara had appeared with Big Bang’s TOP in the music video for Gummy’s fourth album title track ‘I’m Sorry.’ That marked the beginning of her activities in Korea. One year later, she played the part of ‘Rie’, a ninja from a Japanese village in the MBC drama ‘Return of Iljimae.’ For Sandara who dreamed of being a singer, it was a really difficult time, because she wondered if she would have to put aside her dreams of being a singer for the sake of acting. But then an opportunity appeared. To be a part of 2NE1, ladies who had completely shaken up Korea’s music industry! ^^v
Only acting? Sandara Park can do anything well!
Sandara Park had already reached the highest popularity possible in the Philippines. Acting, singing, dancing, even gags. Sandara Park, the girl who can do anything, had turned the Filipino entertainment world upside down with her impact. When Park Sandara came back to Korea, she underwent many different types of training at YG Entertainment such as vocal, dance, acting, and exercise training. The reason why you couldn’t see Park Sandara right when she came back to Korea was because of this training.
After she started activities with 2NE1, Park Sandara had influenced Korea greatly, even more than she had in the Philippines. Lonely is shaking up the world because of these girls’ passion and talent that could target the entire world.
Between music, acting, and variety shows, Sandara Park radiates talent. She had learned about variety from Big Bang’s Seungri and had become a good speaker.^^ In an interview, she had said that gag was her specialty and showed her greed for gag. In an interview, when she was asked why she wanted to be an entertainer in Korea, she responded “Here, (the Philippines) speaking English or Tagalog has gotten easier but since I’m Korean, I think speaking Korean would be the easiest.” Yes, it was because she wanted to use Korean freely. Therefore this is why she shows her variety skills without boundaries. ^^a
As they have presented themselves to the public yet again with Lonely, I am curious as to what other sides Sandara Park, CL, Park Bom, and Gong Minji will show in the future. ^^
Sandara Park’s passion
When Sandara Park is preparing for the stage, it’s hard to watch. She has to split what little time she does have to practice, so her body is extremely exhausted. But amazingly, when she gets up on stage, she doesn’t show any of what went on behind the scenes and only shows a Sandara Park-like image. Let’s play! This is Sandara Park’s and 2NE1′s catchphrase. It’s the most fitting expression for Sandara Park and 2NE1 who only enjoys themselves when they come out on stage!

Sandara Park's Sentiments on Performing in the Philippines
Sandara Park had visited the Philippines earlier in the year for a brief vacation. During that time she kept a low-profile so she would be able to take full advantage of her fleeting break. Dara is more than happy to be back and to have the opportunity to perform alongside her fellow members of 2NE1. “The Party”, as it was called, a one night concert which took place on June 4th, was held at the Araneta Coliseum located in Quezon City, Philippines.
2NE1 members, Park Bom, CL, Minzy, and Dara gladly answered the questions posed to them by the Philippine and Korean media that were in attendance at the 2NE1 press conference in the Grand Ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati City that afternoon. Sandara got her start back in 2004 when she debuted in ABS-CBN’s “Star Circle Quest” where she took second place.
Her opportunity on “Star Circle Quest” only propelled her forward as she was offered a bunch of successful projects. A few of her accomplishments include winning a double Platinum award in 2004 for her first, self-titled album and having the chance to be in Star Cinema movies “Can This Be Love” and “D’ Lucky Ones”.
Fast forward to the present, Dara is now part of one of the hottest girl groups in Korea. She admitted at the press conference that she was unable to hold back her happiness to be back on familiar soil, especially after she received such a warm welcome from fans once she arrived at the NAIA airport on June 3rd. She may have a small, slim frame but she confessed to the fact that she misses eating: sinigang, pinakbet, and si sig which are her favorite Filipino dishes. Dara continued to convey her love and appreciation as she expressed her willingness and desire to do a movie in the Philippines, if there were any offers.
The other 2NE1 members verified Sandara’s sentiments towards the Philippines saying that they knew how she felt and that she missed the country because of her fond memories of the country. Even before coming to visit Manila Minzy, CL, and Bom already had tasted Pinoy food because Dara apparently shares the food sent to Korea by her friends back in the Philippines. It was just another reason why they themselves were interested and excited to explore and experience the country first hand. The leader of 2NE1, CL also stated her desire to return to the Philippines so she could see more of the country and she hopes that they will be able to perform and meet their fans in other cities such as Cebu, Bacolod, and Leyte. Lastly Dara signed off excited fans with a familiar statement which was, “Kamusta kayong lahat, si Sandara ito ang pambansang krung-krung ng Pilipinas. Magkita-kita tayo soon so i-invite niyo naman kami!”, which roughly translates to, “Hello everyone, this is the national quirky girl Sandara of the Philippines. See you soon!”
2NE1 performed a total of 8 songs including “Fire” and “I Don’t Care” to the delight of the full Araneta Coliseum crowd. Sandara pleasantly surprised fans as she even sang her trademark song “In or Out” from her first album. The audience enthusiastically accompanied her as they sang along to every word. Also in attendance were her “Star Circle Quest” friends Melissa Ricks, Joross Gamboa, Joseph Bitangcol, and RJ Martinez to cheer her on.

Beautiful Sandara Park
Sandara Park was born on November 12, 1984 in Busan, South Korea. Due to financial difficulties the family is experiencing in Korea, they migrated to the Philippines, particularly in Pasay City, and started a business there. In the Philippines, Sandara studied English and Chinese since no one in the family speaks the language. Sandara then learned to speak the Philippine language Filipino and became fluent to it. This can be attested to the interviews she had which she used Filipino/Tagalog fluently.
Sandara's star began to shine when she auditioned for the Star Circle Quest of ABS-CBN, which is a reality show intended to search for new talents for the television network. She passed the auditions and officially entered the show with several able contestants. Sandara's charm continued to get the support of the Filipinos until the grand finals which placed her as first runner-up behind the grand winner Hero Angeles.
After her stint in Star Circle Quest, Sandara became one of the newest member of Star Magic, ABS-CBN's elite circle of homegrown talents. She was also graced with several product endorsements and some TV commercials.
Sandara's first projet in ABS-CBN was "Sandara's Romance" which featured Korean dramas which were narrated by her. At the same time, Sandara also starred in "SCQ Reload: OK Ako!" and as host and performer in "ASAP Fanatic". Her first primetime TV appearance was "Krystala" topbilled by Judy Ann Santos.
Sandara Park then continue to appear in different ABS-CBN TV shows such as "SCQ Reload: Kilig Ako!", "Maalaala Mo Kaya", "Komiks: Machete", "Crazy For You", "O-Ha!", "Gudtaym", "Star Magic Presents: Bongga" and Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv". She was also the voice of Jamie Robinson in the Tagalog dub of Voltes V. Just before she returned to Korea, she starred in Dalawang Tisoy" as Kim in C/S 9 network.
Sandara's first movie appearance was a cameo role in "Volta" starred by Ai-Ai Delas Alas. She then starred in "Bcuz Of You" opposite Hero Angeles as her love interest, together with other hot love teams at that time - Kristine Hermosa and Diether Ocampo, and Geoff Eigenmann and Heart Evangelista. The movie consisted of three different episodes. In their episode, Sandara played the role of a Korean tourist who was lost in the Philippines during an excursion and met a tourist guide portrayed by Hero Angeles.
Her next movie with Angeles "Can This Be Love" was a big hit and earned P99 million in the box office. In the movie, Sandara still portrays the role of a Korean girl but this time, as an exchange scholar from Korea. Hero Angeles also portrays the role of a poor student and met Sandara. Their cultural differences provided the twists in the story and the movie was praised by various movie critics especially the improvement in the acting skills of Sandara.
Sandara's next movie was "D' Lucky Ones" but this time she was paired with Joseph Bitangcol ans co-starred with Eugene Domingo and Pokwang. Her last movie in the Philippines before moving back to Korea was "Super Noypi", a fantasy film which was an official entry to the 3nd Metro Manila Film Festival, where she portrayed the character of Michie who had a magic that enables her to create and control fire and ice.
In August 2007, Sandara and her family moved back to South Korea leaving her showbiz career in the Philippines. When they arrived in Korea, YG Entertainment immediately signed her as their talent. Sandara joined several bands in Korea such as Big Bang, Se7en, Jinusean, Lexy and 1TYM. She was noticed in her appearance in Gummy's Music Video for the song "I'm Sorry" together with T.O.P. of Big Bang.
Sandara joined Korean entertainment mainstream when she joined an all-female group 2NE1 under YG Entertainment. The members of the group are Park Boom, CL, Gong Minji and Sandara who is know then as "Dara". They are considered as the female version of Big Bang and they quickly gained a huge following not only in Korea but also from other countries.
2NE1 first gained popularity when they appeared in a commercial by LG Phone Lollipop. They appeared in both the music video and commercial of "Lollipop". The group's debut solo was "Fire" in which they released two versions of music video for the song. The song was an instant hit and it holds its number one position in weeks.
Another song, "I Don't Care", was released two months later and immediately hit the number one on the charts on very same day it was released.
It can be noted by the way, that Sandara has a singing career in the Philippines before she moved back to Korea. Her self-titled debut album produced the hit song "In Or Out" and the jingle for the Rejoice Shampoo commercial "Walang sabit". The album was a Certified Double Platinum which sold more than 60,000 copies after six months.
Sandara made a visit to the Philippines when she was given a break by YG Enertainment in August, 2009. She made some guest appearances in ABS-CBN shows and had a short reunion with some of her celebrity friends.
After Sandara's (re)visit to the Philippines, she immediately worked for her solo single titled "Kiss". Sandara is the first member of 2NE1 to have a solo single that is to be included in the group's latest album (to be) released on November, 2009.
After the group's promo activities for their latest single "I Don't Care", Sandara will be having her schedule for solo activities to promote her new solo single. She will be appearing in TV shows in Korea to promote her song with her Korean fans.
